This is a varied, hands-on role working across both the butchery and customer-facing sides of the shop. You’ll assist our butchers with day-to-day production and preparation, while also playing an important role in serving our customers, preparing orders, keeping displays stocked and helping with the general running of the shop. Customer service is a big part of what we do, so we’re looking for someone who is approachable, confident talking with people and takes pride in giving customers friendly and helpful service. Butchery qualifications or previous experience are an advantage, but aren’t necessarily essential for the right person. You will need to be practical, confident and willing to learn, as the role will involve handling knives and, once properly trained, safely operating butchery machinery from time to time.

During our busy summer and holiday periods there can be plenty of hours available, including five or six-day working weeks at times. During the quieter off-season, particularly through winter, hours may reduce depending on customer demand and the needs of the business. What matters most is that you’re reliable, willing to learn, comfortable getting stuck in and have a good attitude towards work.
