Health Care Assistants support residents with personal care such as showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, safe mobility, and meal assistance, while also monitoring and reporting any changes in health, behaviour, or skin integrity to nursing staff. They help with daily living by making beds, tidying rooms, encouraging activities, and promoting comfort and independence. HCAs follow all infection control and health‑and‑safety procedures, use equipment safely, and maintain a clean, safe environment. Strong communication and teamwork with nurses, colleagues, residents, and whānau is essential, along with professionalism, confidentiality, cultural respect, and consistent adherence to care plans and organisational policies.

The successful applicant will be provided with orientation and ongoing training.
