Mƍ te tĆ«ranga | About the role 

This role is perfect for someone who loves variety, thrives on keeping things humming behind the scenes, and gets a weird amount of satisfaction from tidy systems and getting the details right. One minute you could be processing invoices or payroll, the next you’re helping with recruitment admin, supporting team events, or keeping our internal processes on track. It’s a hands-on role with loads of scope to contribute across the business, and you’ll play an important part in helping our team stay organised, supported, and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities 

Finance: 

  • Manage the accounts inbox, responding promptly and professionally.

  • Enter accounts payable invoices into Xero accurately and on time. 

  • Reconcile supplier statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for.

  • Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs.

  • Perform daily and month-end bank reconciliations.

  • Support the Head of Finance with ad hoc finance tasks and reporting. 

Payroll/HR Administration: 

  • Process fortnightly payroll for a team of 25+ staff

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a smooth employee experience.

  • Serve as the in-house expert on myHR, supporting and training staff in its use.

  • Maintain and update HR and payroll information systems with accuracy and confidentiality. 

  • Provide professional and timely support to the Head of Culture & Sustainability on all HR-related matters.

General Administration: 

  • Helping keep our systems, data, and day-to-day admin processes organised and flowing well

  • Jumping in to support the wider team with general admin, coordination, and the odd curveball that comes with a busy growing business

Requirements

Mƍ ngā pĆ«kenga | Qualifications and experience 

  • 2-3 years of NZ payroll experience.

  • 2-3 years accounts payable experience. 

  • Xero experience preferential.

  • You will have a high degree of integrity and trust, experienced in dealing with confidential employee information. 

  • Have a strong sense of judgement and decision-making ability.

  • Have a high level of attention to detail and effective forward planning and prioritisation skills. 

  • Be self-motivated and have a sense of initiative. 

  • Be able to work independently or part of our awesome team.

  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to jump in where needed

  • Confidence using systems and supporting others with tools and processes
