Freedom 2 Fly Festival is Raglan’s only performing arts festival, bringing contemporary circus, dance and performance into the heart of the town each November.
First held in 2023, the festival has grown steadily, shaped by a strong local base and an appetite for bold, physical storytelling.

At the centre of Freedom2Fly are co-founders Jess and Jay — professional circus performers and educators who believe deeply in the power of movement to bring people together.
With decades of combined experience performing internationally, their work has taken them from large-scale festivals to stages around the world. But it’s here in Whāingaroa that they chose to put down roots and build something lasting — a creative space grounded in connection and learning.
