Our Guiding documents

Raglan’s guiding documents outline a shared vision for a sustainable, connected, and community-led future. Raglan Naturally brings together local aspirations and values to shape long-term growth, while the Raglan Tourism and Event Destination Plan ensures the town’s unique vibe is protected through thoughtful, manaakitanga-driven tourism. The Whāingaroa Harbour Strategy focuses on enhancing harbour access, health, and environmental resilience over the next 30–50 years, and the Raglan Character Isthmus Study celebrates the natural beauty and relaxed spirit that define the town, ensuring these qualities are preserved for generations to come.

Raglan Community House

Since 1987, the Raglan Community House has been here for Whāingaroa – offering support, programmes, and a welcoming space to connect.
More than just a building, it’s a hub for growth, wellness, and community spirit.

The Community House began in rented premises, staffed entirely by volunteers. In 1990, Mike Rarere was appointed as the first full-time coordinator, helping to build a stronger foundation for the organisation. After four more years of planning, fundraising, and construction, the new whare opened at 45 Bow Street, Raglan – becoming the heart of community life.

Te Toi Ora ki Whāingaroa

Te Toi Ora ki Whāingaroa takes a tikanga Māori approach to health and wellbeing, providing connection, care, and support for kaumātua and whānau across Whāingaroa.
Established in 2020 to respond to the needs of whānau during COVID-19, the charitable trust continues to nurture wellbeing through culturally grounded programmes, outreach clinics, and marae-based initiatives.

Powered by Volunteers

From events to everyday support, our community thrives because of the time, skills, and aroha our volunteers give. They’re the heart of what we do, and the reason Raglan shines.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Whāingaroa, bringing energy, skills, and care to every corner of our community. From environmental projects and community gardens to health services, arts initiatives, and local events, volunteers make Raglan a vibrant, connected, and resilient place to live.
